Booking flights always presents an abundance of options and Basic Economy often is one that pops in there. Many travel advisors have strong feelings about whether to sell or offer these flights to their clients. VAX has all that in mind with the different filter options that are offered to you.
There are travel advisors who prefer to never see Basic Economy flights appear at all. VAX provides an overall filter if you are an advisor that wants them to be always hidden. Simply go to Member Services > User Preferences and select the option that is the best default display for you.
If you are a travel advisor who likes to see all the options with your flight displays to be able to offer them and be more competitive within the industry, you wouldn’t want to hide them in the default settings. When viewing the flight results, you can find there is an option to hide Basic Economy Fares as well. Please note that there may be supplier situations or destinations when the filter option doesn’t appear.
When you do select a Basic Economy Fare, whether it be intentional or not, the good news is that VAX still has your back and covers you with multiple displays to ensure you know what you’ve selected, what restrictions apply and what options there are to upgrade. This provides you, the travel advisor, the opportunity to have that conversation with your clients so they are not caught off-guard when they arrive at the airport with those restrictions.
