Luke Gibson presenting

VAX VacationAccess was excited to participate in Avoya Travel’s Land Forum in Fort Lauderdale at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach for the first time this August! VAX was featured in a general session with an appearance by Luke Gibson, the director of VAX. I had to miss it to attend the PATH event, but I heard rave reviews of an engaging and exciting presentation including, among other things, the importance of The Compass as a daily destination to keep agents up-to-date in the industry.

Technology Panel

I was able to attend the last day which included a technology panel led by Luke, featuring Cheryl Hudak of Apple Leisure Group Vacations, Robyn Basso of the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau and Barry Karp from ShoreTrips. This spirited conversation started off with a good laugh as Barry shared a little about Wisconsin’s great love of cheese, with everyone except our Chicago resident who graciously declined. Then they talked about future visions expected for the industry, highlights of how each of the brands excel using technology and much more. It was very insightful and finished off with a lighthearted question asking what each panelist preferred: beach or pool. Robyn voted beach, Cheryl voted pool and of course Barry decided neither fit him and declared sauna as his preference.

Top Agent Panel

The final presentation we were able to see was a top agent panel, and it was exciting to hear several of them share how beneficial VAX was to their business. The marketing opportunities, email sales tool, ease of booking and comparing itineraries were some of the top things they love on VAX.

It is always exciting to grow our engagement with travel agents and this land forum is no exception. We are grateful to Avoya Travel for the opportunity to be included!
