Furthering their commitment to protecting the ocean (after eliminating straws on board), Norwegian Cruise Line recently launched an all-new course on NCLU, their travel agent education site, called Sail & Sustain. The introduction of this new course demonstrates Norwegian’s environmental commitment to preventing accidents and incidents involving pollution, reducing the environmental impact of their operations, managing waste through methods that promote recycling and reusing materials and ensuring continual refinement of their ISO 14001 certification objectives and targets.

The course, available on NCLU on Norwegian Central, has four sections:

  1. Community & Environmental Outreach
  2. Partners in Preservation
  3. Onboard Production, Conservation & Recycling
  4. Safety & Efficiency

Agents who complete the program will earn a Sail & Sustain badge and will help NCL and its cruise passengers improve NCL’s sustainability culture and take strides toward healthier oceans. Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, NCL’s sister brands, are also part of the program.
