IMG Shares 2024 Annual Travel Outlook Survey Results

The results are in, and according to International Medical Group’s (IMG) annual Travel Outlook Survey, international travel is hot, hot, hot for 2024. Upon sharing its findings in early February, IMG revealed that 96% of survey respondents plan to travel internationally throughout the year, and 47% plan to do so three or more times.

As for domestic adventures, 85% of respondents have at least one U.S. vacation planned for 2024, and 49% plan to travel domestically three or more times. Wondering which destinations respondents are visiting? Results among those surveyed showed Canada, Mexico, Japan, Italy, Spain and Thailand as the most popular travel spots worldwide.

In addition to revealing where respondents are going, the survey assessed other important factors including travelers’ top concerns when taking a trip — with illnesses and accidents, cancellations, navigation issues and interruptions being the most prevalent —, how much travelers are willing to spend — 58% plan to spend the same as they did in 2023, 28% will spend more — and travel purposes — 50% will travel for business, 78% will combine their business trips with pleasure.
