The Vibe

Comfortable. Las Brisas Acapulco offers a couple’s sanctuary where luxury meets nature's splendor all wrapped in a relaxed atmosphere. It all begins with a pink frozen margarita in their cozy, intimate reception area. After you relax and check in, you are taken to your room in pink and white jeeps. The whole resort climbs a hillside overlooking the harbor. Las Brisas isn’t just a hotel — it’s a collection of secluded casitas, each offering a private or semi-private pool. Imagine waking up to a floating breakfast in your pool, with hibiscus flowers sprinkled on the water. Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee with a sunrise view or sipping champagne as the sun sets over the Pacific, the privacy and elegance of these accommodations make for a dream-like experience.

How I Felt

Relaxed. It’s a perfect place for a couples’ time away together. Drinks at the private pool are definitely a must do, with fine dining options on property. Exclusive Beach Club Bliss. The resort is perched on a hill, but the guests have access to Las Brisas' private beach club, La Concha. A quick 20-minute shuttle takes you down to an oasis featuring two saltwater pools, a freshwater pool and a private stretch of sand. Whether you’re swimming, sunbathing or sipping a tropical cocktail by the water, this hidden gem is the perfect place to unwind.

The Digs

The resort offers 11 room types ranging from casitas with shared pools to casitas with private pools to the La Roqueta Presidential Suite where you enter the pool from inside your room and can swim outside. My favorite for a quiet couple’s getaway were the Junior Suite with Private Pool rooms, sitting on top of the hill because they offered great privacy. Featuring recently renovated bathrooms, a private swimming pool and a king bed, the Junior Suites are ideal for couples looking to relax. No minors are allowed in this category. The resort also has its own private beach as well as restaurants on property.

The Agenda

I was there for Tianguis Turístico México, an annual tourism business forum of Mexico and Las Brisas Acapulco was the conference official hotel. Acapulco offers numerous activities, including the historic Fort of San Diego, local markets and Punta Diamante — an area with shopping malls, nightclubs and restaurants. Another unique attraction is La Quebrada — steep cliff from which daredevil divers dive into the ocean — a spectacle you can watch from a restaurant inside Hotel Mirador Acapulco Puerta del Cielo. Consider exploring local markets, historical sites or engaging in water sports. The concierge at Las Brisas Acapulco can assist in arranging tours and providing information on current local events.

The Eats

The food on site is varied and well prepared as well as professionally presented and served. The room services offer all the options available at the restaurant with each room having an outside cupboard, the room where the staff can place the food, and the guess can open the cupboard from inside the room to get the food. No need to dress. You can also dine at the Bellavista restaurant on the outside balcony overlooking the Acapulco Harbor while enjoying live entertainment. Having an evening cocktail at the Sunset Bar is a must. An outdoor oasis perched on an overlook of the Pacific Ocean, the Sunset Bar is where you go to for signature sips such as Las Brisas Breeze, and watch as the sun majestically drops below the horizon. Attire is casual.

Why I Would Go Back

I was there solo, but I would love to return with my spouse. It is a great place to go with your significant other for an anniversary, honeymoon, birthday, Valentine’s Day — or just any romantic getaway. The serenity and beauty really help focus on each other, relax and rekindle the romance in your life.
