Are you looking for a convenient and comfortable hotel to send your clients before they catch a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale? Do you like coastal-inspired décor and friendly staff? Do you need a nice place to stay before visiting Broward County Convention Center for an industry event? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions read on to discover why Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina might be the right choice for you.

The Vibe

Beachy, yet sophisticated. With a well-decorated lobby, friendly front desk staff and unbeatable marina views, my first impression of Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina was a good one. While the property isn’t ultra-luxurious, its close proximity to Port Everglades, out of which most major cruise brands sail, makes it an ideal choice for those looking to spend a little time on land before or after they hit the sea.

The Digs

My room was a “2 Double Beds” category, and I was impressed by its clean look and really liked the bathroom which featured dark, rectangular tiles and a swanky rainfall shower head. The space was simple, but nice with coral-like decor above the beds and a small table for me to place my laptop on. While I was pleasantly surprised to be met with a marina-facing balcony, I do have to say the walls were pretty thin, and seeing as my room was adjoined to the one next door, I did hear my neighbors arguing about the Apple Store and watching TV late at night.

The Agenda

I was in Fort Lauderdale attending the 2024 CruiseWorld conference. As such, most of my time was spent sitting in on sessions, chatting with advisors and working the VAX trade show booth alongside my lovely teammates. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to explore during this trip, but I did manage to grab dinner at the Boatyard, a trendy nearby restaurant, on our last night and it was fantastic.

The Eats

Hilton Fort Lauderdale is home to a few onsite eateries: Olive & Sea, Pool Bar and Dockside Provisions. Throughout my stay, Dockside Provisions proved to be an essential spot for grabbing quick food and drinks. I loved the snack boxes there and ate my fair share of PB&J sandwiches and celery sticks (bonus points, to Hilton for providing fresh, healthy options). In addition to Dockside Provisions, I visited Olive & Sea twice: once during the VAX brand happy hour and again on my last night with a coworker and new friend. Olive & Sea is a colorful and cute spot, and it made for the perfect place to grab a drink and indulge in some good eats.

Why I Would Go Back

Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina was a nice hotel with unbeatable proximity to Port Everglades and the Broward County Convention Center. I can see myself going back for future industry events or if I ever find myself on a nearby cruise.
