I recently had the opportunity to sail on Royal Caribbean International’s Harmony of the Seas attending the KHM Crystal Conference. Whether you want a robot to make you a drink or prefer to climb a rock wall while drifting through the ocean, this Oasis-class ship has something for you to enjoy.
The Vibe
The vibe changes from deck to deck, but I would say overall it’s a family-friendly atmosphere. There are several adult-only areas, but most of the ship is geared toward families with members of all ages. Harmony of the Seas is ideal for multi-generational families, as there are activities available for all ages and interests.

How I Felt
This answer would change a bit depending on which day you ask me. Day one I would have said I was slightly overwhelmed. I don’t take cruises too often, and this was new territory for me. It was more of an excited overwhelmed, but I think I will forever be in awe of what can all fit on a cruise ship that travels through the ocean. By the end of day one and moving into day two, everyone settled into their spot on board, and everything seemed to flow quite nicely. Throughout the week, I felt adrenaline, excitement, comfort and relaxation.
The Digs
I stayed in an oceanview cabin with a balcony, and I would definitely book this category again. There was plenty of room and ample storage space for belongings, and it was clean and comfortable. The balcony had room for two people to sit, and the bathroom was a decent size.
The Agenda
I was on board for the KHM Crystal Conference, and in addition to attending the conference events, I was able to check out some of the entertainment and explore the ship. Onboard Harmony of the Seas is an ice skating rink, waterslides, a zipline, a flowrider and an aquatheater – and this is just the tip of the iceberg. This ship even has the Bionic Bar, where guests can have a robot mix them a cocktail.

The Eats
While there are endless amounts of included dining experiences, I would suggest choosing to book at the specialty restaurants a few of the evenings. Chops Grille serves up amazing steaks, and Jamie’s Italian offers Italian favorites using seasonal ingredients.
Why I Would Go Back
While cruising isn’t my preferred way to travel, it’s growing on me over the past few years, and I would absolutely sail on the Harmony of the Seas again. My favorite place on the whole ship is Central Park, an outdoor zone located on the ship’s interior area on deck 8. There is a walking path through lush vegetation, including various trees and plants. It’s a great place to sit and read, people watch or relax.
