The travel industry has been in a tailspin since March 2020, and if you have not heard it from anyone else lately- YOU ARE DOING AN AMAZING JOB of MANAGING IT!

One of our biggest takeaways from this time is that communication and transparency are important to people. As much as it does not feel good to have to share another cancellation or closure, it helps people see that our companies are working for them and with them. Show people that you are working. Utilize your resources for communicating—write an email to your database, go live- even if it is only one minute long, make a post on your social media with or without a photo.

Sharing on social media when you find out about negative travel advisories helps potential clients who have been lurking on your social media know that you have a pulse on the travel industry. Hopefully, after the sad post, you are then able to share the re-opening post and it will trigger a new conversation with someone who sees that you are not afraid to share the good, bad and the ugly. What this also means is sharing details of your clients' travel journeys beyond their reviews. Share the ups and downs of how you worked for your clients to show potential clients that you will work for them as well.

Specific messages for specific mediums:

LinkedIn

Share a snippet of your client's journey. Invite fellow businesses to partner with you.

Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

Shout out to companies that are doing a good job updating you. Share client journeys including bumps in the road.

TikTok

Share the good, the bad and the ugly of your day-to-day agent life. If you are showing up in your sweats and working hard- SHOW THE PEOPLE!
