A movement that has gained considerable traction over the last few years, more properties are beginning to implement sober-friendly initiatives. These aren’t the boring soda-and-juice concoctions we often associate with mocktails, but instead are artfully curated and handcrafted drinks with their own spotlight on the menu. For travelers looking to book a relaxing vacation without the alcohol (or a limited amount), check out these hotel chains and properties offering delicious sober-friendly options.
Hyatt
Releasing its “Zero Proof, Zero Judgement” program in 2021, travelers can find these beverages at a variety of properties, including Hyatt’s Alila, Andaz, Destination by Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, JdV by Hyatt, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt and Thompson Hotels brands.
The initiative features liquor replacements from Ritual Zero Proof and mixers from Fever-Tree to offer guests a near-identical experience of sipping on a mixed drink. According to a December 2021 press release, “Each participating hotel has created unique, non-alcoholic beverages using a variety of Ritual Zero Proof and Fever-Tree’s spirit alternatives and mixers, as well as seasonal ingredients and flavors for guests and locals to enjoy.”
The release details some of the offerings travelers can expect to find, highlighting Hyatt Centric Times Square New York’s Bar 54 for its Ritual Zero Proof gin alternative, basil, cucumber, lime and ginger beverage. For a distinctly tropical taste, Thompson Savannah’s Lobby Bar offers a Ritual Zero Proof rum alternative mixed with blueberry, honey, lime and Fever-Tree ginger beer.

Tempo by Hilton
A relatively new program, Tempo by Hilton offers a bar menu with “Free-Spirited” (non-alcoholic) drinks. The Times Square property was the first to incorporate this initiative in 2023, with future Tempo hotels slated to offer these beverages as well. Currently, guests will find the no ABV options at the Raleigh Downtown, San Diego Del Mar (opening in January 2026) and Pigeon Forge (opening in October 2025) locations.
While travelers can still find normal cocktails on the bar menu, the free-spirited offerings are meant to mirror the spirited ones in terms of presentation, flavor profile, mouthfeel and sophistication. Tempo by Hilton also implemented equal billing for both options, making sure all travelers have an equitable experience.
IHG Hotels & Resorts
Striving to meet the needs of their guests, IHG Hotels & Resorts is continuing to expand its sober-curious drink options in a variety of ways. In the summer of 2021, the brand implemented a zero-proof drink requirement for all of its Crowne Plaza properties, a program that features both no and low ABV options. The Cranberry Refresher is an especially popular choice for guests, blending cranberry juice, pomegranate, lime juice, orange juice and Fever Tree ginger ale for a fruity delight.
IHG’s Hotel Indigo, voco hotels and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts have also been required to carry a minimum of one to two non-alcoholic drinks. Additionally, a handful of Hotel Indigo properties have partnered with Smith Teamaker to bring guests adaptogenic teas using ingredients like ashwagandha, turmeric and ginger — blends that have been integrated into some of the zero-proof drink options.
Loews Hotels & Co
Added to all of its properties in 2022, the "Free Spirited" program features both non-alcoholic and low-alcoholic beverages. Like other brands with sober-friendly drink options, each property will offer a different selection that’s reflective of local suppliers, beloved regional flavors and the creativity of the mixologist. Despite the changing bar menu, an April 2024 press release detailed some of the available beverages to give travelers an idea of what to expect during their stay. For instance, a low ABV drink offered at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort location is the Coronado Cobbler, an expert blend of amontillado sherry, lemon juice, liquid alchemist peach syrup, a dash of Angostura bitters and finished off with a mint sprig.
Guests seeking a no ABV option will particularly enjoy the Pineapple-Matcha-Jito at the Live! by Loews – St. Louis location. This refreshing beverage blends house pineapple and tarragon shrub with lime juice, honey syrup, matcha powder and club soda to create an airy drink jam-packed with flavor. To further align with its commitment to accommodate all travelers, Loews’ program has also been integrated into its respective catering and event services, like the brand’s annual Summerfest.
Viceroy Riviera Maya – Playa del Carmen, Mexico
The nature of all-inclusive resorts, especially in hotspot vacation destinations, can make it difficult to find drinks that accommodate sober or sober-curious travelers. While there’s still a way to go in order to bridge this gap, Viceroy Riviera Maya has taken a step in the right direction. The all-inclusive property offers alternative beverage options such as fresh coconut water, agua frescas made with mango, guava and pineapple and zero-proof mocktails like the Chelada and Pink Palmer.
Fiyavalhu Resort – Mandhoo Island, Maldives
Private villas for the traditional Maldivian vacation experience? Check. Offerings for the sober and sober-curious traveler? Check. Emphasis on health and wellness? Check. Whether travelers realize it or not, alcohol is prohibited for local citizens in the Maldives, with the one exception being tourist resorts. However, in order to provide a more holistic approach to this all-inclusive stay, Fiyavalhu is completely alcohol-free. Instead of a traditional bar, the property offers an outdoor tea experience. Additionally, meals in the designated dining spaces (a variety of halal restaurants, cafes and buffets) are accompanied by mocktails or other tasty beverages, as opposed to those tempting mixed drinks.
