As the year wraps up, travel slows down and especially following Thanksgiving, I tend to start pondering what I’m grateful for.

Travel Industry Relationships

There are so many special people in my life that I only know from traveling for work. These are people I can keep up with over social media to a point, but when we run into each other the joy it brings to see their smile as they approach for a hug fills my heart even as I pen this article. I believe travel is special for so many reasons, and in that I believe that the people that have travel in their blood are unique and wonderful. They all have a special understanding of diversity, the power of relationships and empathy for what we go through during our travels.

The travel advisors always seeking knowledge and growth, especially those willing to share beneficial feedback and talents. The host and franchises that have amazing teams working in their organizations. The suppliers that become fast friends because of how often we see each other, even if we’re competitors, in this industry we are a big ole family!

My VAX VacationAccess Team

I could not ask for a more amazing team to work with. Always supporting each other, recognizing each other with the gratitude we have for that support and always an open ear when we need to work together for resolutions. A team that is diligently considering what is best for the advisors that frequent our leisure travel marketplace and the suppliers that are present there.

My Family

Last but certainly not least (and maybe the best for last). I am continuously amazed by the support for my travel lifestyle from my husband and my children. Though my children are all grown now and living their own lives, independent from my help, we are still a close-knit family that stays faithfully in touch. My kids mock me often as I text them each time I board a plane with some sentiment that reminds them that I love them and they are my greatest joy in life. I do my best to make each message unique so they never bore of it, which I must say is challenging in itself, however they never miss the opportunity to bid me safe travels.

All in all, I am very blessed. These moments are a good time to remind myself that. I’m human and can find ways to complain but I do recognize my life’s treasures. If you find yourself in any of these categories, I deeply share my gratitude to you!
