For many travelers, alcohol is a unifying presence and a cultural staple. Sipping a tasty drink can consolidate people from all walks of life, break the ice between visitor and local and immerse travelers into the unique flavors of a destination. However, while this may still be the preference for some, the sober and sober curious movement is shaking up the way travelers approach their itineraries and cultural experiences.

Flash Pack, a boutique group adventure company, is getting in on the alcohol-free action with its launch of Zero-Proof Escapes, a program offering the same immersive opportunities and bucket-list adventures as their traditional trips, but with a non-alcoholic twist. Bringing together solo travelers in their 30s and 40s with an emphasis on “can’t-do-by-yourself” itineraries, sober and sober curious travelers can embark on the journey of a lifetime to Iceland, Bali or Puerto Rico starting in 2025. Check out the itinerary options below.

Bali & the Gilis with Bob Marier – Leading the first trip to Bali is celebrity sobriety coach, Bob Marier. Travelers will have the opportunity to participate in purification rituals and private meditation sessions in an ancient temple, taste the flavors of local cuisine in a rice paddy field, push their physical limits with flying yoga and learn how to make Jamu, a traditional herbal drink known for its healing properties. The inaugural trip departs on January 15 and is priced at $3,795.

Unknown Iceland – For the outdoor adventurers, embark on a five-day itinerary through Iceland’s backyard. Take a private Jeep expedition through the Valley of Thor, participate in a private hike and exclusive Icelandic lunch atop a glacier (complete with non-alcoholic spirit tasting) and relax with a silica mud mask and the geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon. Round out each night with a long soak in the hot tub with front row seats to a dazzling starry sky and a Northern Lights showing. This itinerary is priced at $4,045.

Tropical Puerto Rico – Offering once-in-a-lifetime cultural immersion experiences, travelers can kayak in the dark to witness the glow of the bioluminescent bays, explore the cultures of Taino, Spanish and African traditions through a cooking class with a local chef, slurp on some pina colada mocktails and learn the art of bomba dancing. This trip is priced at $2,690.

“The sober movement has grown dramatically alongside the solo travel boom, and both expand perspectives on what it means to be happy and fulfilled,” said Lee Thomspon, co-founder and chief marketing officer. “Our adventures have always been a friendly, open and inclusive atmosphere for like-minded travelers to bond, but these new trips offer a hyper-focused community for travelers who are sober or sober curious.”
