I’ve heard many say that entertainment on a cruise can make or break a vacation. While I don’t know that I completely agree with that viewpoint, I will say it can certainly be a huge bonus if it’s enjoyable.

I’ve had many advisors question me about the entertainment aboard the Scarlet Lady with Virgin Voyages, since I posted that I vacationed aboard that beautiful ship. Many are afraid it’s too sexy for themselves or their clients. Yes, it is an Adults Only cruise, but I beg to differ! I think the key here is diversity, this is a cruise line that offers diversity and I welcome it with open arms.

There were many options for entertainment both day and night. Each day had so many options to choose from, both included and at an additional cost. From what we could see many of the additional cost options sold out very quickly such as several different tasting options, bourbon is one that I recall off the top of my head. We chose a Sunsets & Selfies event as well and learned a lot of tips about how to take good pictures and had some great photo opportunities while we did it. There was a PJ party one night that was fun and included milk and cookies. There was a star gazing event that was interesting, but it was quite cloudy, so we headed back to our room.

There’s also adults only entertainment, but I didn’t find any of it offensive, in fact quite the opposite! So. Much. FUN!! The Diva is a drag queen, and she performed a couple of drag shows, hosted a bingo event during the day that was jam packed and an ice cream game show.

We also watched Duel Reality, a circus kind of performance where two teams use all sorts of different acrobatic talents and death-defying acts to battle each other with a Romeo and Juliet sort of theme. So amazing and good!

The Scarlet Night entertainment was amazing all over the ship. Different acts popped up in so many different places prior to the big party that took place in the pool area. It was exciting and everyone could determine how involved they wanted to be. Many were down dancing with the crew in the pool, others danced on the deck and others yet that watched from the deck above and partied at their own level. Even those who didn’t party were not bothered in their cabins from discussions I had with many sailors the next day.

Ships in the Night was a musical performance that was beautifully delivered exploring the incidental connection while on our own journey and was very enjoyable.

Never Sleep Alone is probably the show that has everyone aghast. They tell you it’s not for the faint of heart and they are probably right. However, I thought it was hilarious to experience and fun to participate in. My husband and I were chosen to come onstage for a portion, and we enjoyed ourselves. Believe it or not we may have been the most risqué portion of the show because we had a big kiss in front of everyone. That is as far as it went, nothing too spicy throughout the rest of the show.

I should mention as well that we didn’t attend any entertainment that wasn’t fully attended. We talked to so many people that were so disappointed because shows were full, and they couldn’t get in. The sailors on the ship were there for great entertainment and they got it! We loved it and plan to go again.
