There are several travel industry conferences throughout the year, but a favorite among advisors is the Las Vegas Travel Agent Forum. With more than 1000 attendees, this conference saw another successful turnout this week at Paris Las Vegas.
Advisors value the opportunity to be able to interact with all types of brands and suppliers in one place. “The value I find in coming to the travel agent forum was strengthening some vendor relationships, as well as learning about new products,” said Dana Pawlak, a travel advisor at Magical Moments Vacations. “Networking and making new connections is paramount for our industry. I found the seminars to be very educational and inspiring.”
Educational session topics included Developing Your Niche and Personal Brand, Essential Tools and Processes to Run an Efficient and Profitable Agency and Tips to Increase Your All-Inclusive Resort Sales, among many others. Advisors also heard experts in the industry discuss topics around legal strategies, artificial intelligence and marketing.

“Some of my favorite parts about the convention were the very upbeat, fun and informative speakers,” said Pawlak. “I also truly enjoyed meeting agents from all over. It's helpful to meet other business owners who can share their experiences and give new insights in helping our clients have the best experiences.”
In addition to educational sessions, other opportunities for advisors to interact with suppliers were through roundtable discussions and one-to-one meetings. These interactions allow advisors to have deeper and more intimate conversations with suppliers they are interested in working with. The trade show is also always a big hit, as advisors have access to more than 350 domestic and international brands, all in one place.
Suppliers look forward to these types of conferences because it’s a great way to reach a number of advisors. “We love being at any event where we can reach amazing travel agents and advisors,” said David Chait, CEO and founder of Travefy. “We want to educate people about the great tools that Travefy can provide to help them grow their business and especially at a conference like this where there are so many amazing established advisors, but also so many that are new to the industry.”
Chait said at Travefy they want to help the industry grow through education, and this is one of the reasons they invest in education at the Las Vegas Travel Agent Forum with their Agent Accelerator session. The half-day workshop included sales best practices and tips for marketing strategies and long-term business success.
This year’s evening events took place at the brand new Atomic Golf Las Vegas and poolside at Paris Las Vegas. According to Chait, some of the best parts of the conference are the evening networking events. “You really have the chance to just talk with the attendees,” he said. “The stories that you hear from folks on how they got into the industry, their why, what they’re building towards, what their goals are, it’s inspiring. It’s always just fun to take that time outside of the all-important education sessions to just hear peoples’ stories.”
Travel Show Marketing Group’s next event is the Romance Travel Forum, which will be held at Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres from May 6 to May 10, 2024. To learn more about all the events on offer, visit www.travelsmg.com.
