My husband and I had booked our vacation cruise on Virgin Voyages and were excitedly counting down the days to our departure. About one month before, I received an email promoting the Splash of Romance package that could be added to our voyage. This was an offer to add several amenities to our stay for only $200 for one cabin. For our voyage, it included the following:
- Enhanced boarding with a dedicated line anytime from 1:30 p.m. on (this could be subject to change for future voyages)
- A stylish wristband
- Cold-pressed energizing juice in the morning
- A three-hour Thermal Spa pass per sailor
- Exclusive Sail Away event on Embarkation Day
- Aphrodisiac bites delivered to our room
- A complimentary Shake for Champagne on board
I carefully read and reread the email and thought “Hey the spa treatment would cost at least this much!” The email stated to act fast as only 50 packages were available per voyage. I did, and we received the package.
Our embarkation time was assigned at 2:30 p.m., but we arrived at 1:30 p.m., found our line and were welcomed aboard with expedited care. They put our bands on, but I do recommend you don’t pull too tightly because it doesn’t loosen up. It only gets tighter throughout the cruise.
We had a slight hiccup because we didn’t receive the welcome letter in our cabin for the package, so we were asking questions about the Sail Away party and getting mixed messages. We were advised it was at Richards Rooftop, but then we were not allowed there. We had a spot cordoned off for the party that felt a bit awkward honestly, but we did receive rose champagne while the other sailors received regular champagne. It was fun and exciting as we sailed out of Miami to begin our journey.
We enjoyed our Shake for Champagne in the game room the day we arrived at Bimini Beach. It was a storming morning, and we weren’t quite ready to disembark for the Beach Club with that kind of weather. I opened the app, shook it and watched my phone screen turn into gorgeous, golden bubbles. We waited about five to 10 minutes, and our bottle, ice bucket and champagne arrived. Before we shook, we had stopped at a bar to get a large glass of some orange and pineapple juice to make some very nice mimosa’s while we played our board game.

The Thermal Spa pass was everything you could imagine for a restful, rejuvenating and relaxing experience. We started with the mud room, followed by the steam room, salt room and then the sauna. From there we bravely plunged in the cold pools, followed by the warmer pool and then the hot tub. We flowed through the process twice and ended with a rest on the heated quartz slabs.
The juice wasn’t delivered to our room as initially indicated so we didn’t get to the bar to enjoy that most days. The aphrodisiac bites were delicious and arrived on days three and four for us.
All in all, this was a package I would purchase again and highly recommend to anyone to include in their voyage.
