3. Jules’ Undersea Lodge, Florida

“From birth, man carries the weight of gravity on his shoulders. He is bolted to earth. But man has only to sink beneath the surface and he is free.” — Jacques Yves Cousteau . First of all, I’m going to give Jacques some credit and assume he was including #PADIwomen in that sentiment, at least in spirit ;-) . So excited to share this first glimpse at one of my most memorable adventures, ever — spending the night underwater in the @jules_undersea_lodge in @thefloridakeys. It’s America’s only underwater hotel, and as far as I can tell, the only dive-in hotel in the world. . My friend Heather and I spent nineteen hours under the surface, slipping between our underwater habitat and the murky lagoon, all the whole filming a segment for @paditv that I’m basically peeing in my wetsuit with excitement over. Swipe right for a peek! . So what did we do, other than film? We also watched ocean documentaries on Netflix (oh yeah, they have Netflix!), had pizza delivered on scuba for dinner, read the touching guestbook, FaceTimed our families from underwater, and watched for fish out the porthole while snacking on goldfish crackers (that one really tickled us.) . This will definitely go down as my most unique hotel stay ever — until I make it to space someday, I’m guessing ;-) . So, would you sleep in an underwater hotel? Discuss! And by the way, speaking of video, I’m looking for a great editor — I’ll leave some details in my stories!
