U.S. News & World Report’s travel rankings use a methodology that focuses on three main things: reputation among professional travel experts, guest reviews and hotel class ratings. U.S. News currently only ranks luxury hotels and resorts, which they define as “luxury hotels as those that consistently receive a 4-, 4.5- or 5-star "hotel class" rating.”
